Hi, I'm Kristen!
As my third grade time capsule states, I wanted to be a teacher growing up. As I got older, my interests changed to the more creative side of business. These interests led me to pursue a Business Marketing degree from the University of Missouri. During my time as a college student I interned in marketing and sales, but continued to have my eye on education. I tutored elementary students while at Mizzou and worked at a school while on a mission trip to Jamaica, which ultimately led to my decision to join Teach for America.
I taught for three years in Memphis, Tennessee. It challenged me professionally and personally to learn and understand the educational system in America, and I recognized opportunities to improve education in certain areas. I returned to Saint Louis University for graduate school to continue my education and to continue teaching while attaining my Master of Arts in Communication.
I am a marketer, strategist, teacher, and graduate student with experience on a range of qualitative research, strategy, and marketing projects. If you take a look around this site, you'll see I have particular expertise in education and agriculture.
Ultimately, I'm passionate about bringing people together to solve problems and create impact where it's needed most.
I am an adventurer, always trying to find new places to go and hikes to take.
I care deeply about issues related to social justice, female empowerment, and equity in education.
I am outgoing, constantly trying new things and taking risks.
